Indian Runner Drinks, was one of the sponsors at this years annual John Aldridge Charity Classic golf event at the Boavista Golf and Spa Resort, Portugal.
John Aldridge, former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legend holds the event each year in aid of children’s charities in both the UK and Portugal. This year a massive 40,000 Euros was raised over the two days of competition and a 470k Euros raised since the events inception.
Sporting a field of 116 golfers and celebrities, from the UK, Ireland and Portugal, the John Aldridge Charity Classic proved once again to be a great success. Brought back to Boavista Golf and Spa Resort in 2011 the event has grown each year, with 2017 reaching record numbers, in both players and monies raised.
The first round was a team event, Texas Scramble and round two was singles, and with a packed weekend of extra activities the whole event proved to be winner. The Gala Dinner was held at Boavista Clubhouse restaurant on the Saturday night where all participants enjoyed a splendid meal and an auction was held which raised even more money for the charities.
Cases of Indian Runner Golden Ale awaited the winners of both the Par 3 nearest the pin and the longest drive competitions, on both days.
The John Aldridge Charity Classic supports children’s charities in the UK, Ireland and Portugal including The Alder Hey Children’s Charity in Liverpool, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in Dublin, NECI in Praia da Luz and Lagos orphanage.
Bill Harris, Co-founder of Indian Runner comments, “We are massively behind John Aldridge and his charitable endeavours to help children in both the UK and Portugal. Our continued sponsorship is testament to the faith that we have in the work the donations support.”
